Official Looks at Matthew M Williams' Nike Zoom MMW 4 in "Rust Factor" and "Triple Black"
The 1017 ALYX 9SM designer’s collaborative kicks already dropped in Europe but are expected to drop stateside soon.
Matthew M Williams — founder of 1017 ALYX 9SM and creative director for French luxury label Givenchy — is ready to proceed with more footwear collaborations with Nike this season. His next launch will be a continuation of the Zoom MMW 4 in two colorways, one being a sinister looking “Rust Factor” while the other elects to go with the classic “Triple Black” motif.
The “Rust Factor” offering is the most playful iteration of this lineage that we’ve seen spring from Willams and the Nike team so far. A majority of its mesh-constructed base is doused in its titular shade and comes prepared with muted gold trim down the throat and a marbled mold that is planted onto the lateral mid-foot in cream and gray. Black accents also get invited in to dress the medial Swooshes, synthetic forefoot overlays, interior liners and the heel counters. Just above its aggressive and tractor-looking outsoles, the midsoles give off a spray painted-esque aesthetic as “Rust Factor”, gold and black hues segment themselves in ombré fashion.
Its release sibling lives up to its namesake and arrives with a straightforward look. From the front to the back and top to bottom, the kicks are engulfed in a jet black hue. Mid-foot molds, eye stays and overlays slightly stand out on this pair due to their glossy finishes. Inside the shoes, the co-branded insoles continue the understated theme with stealthy font.
Both of these pairs already saw a release in Europe towards the tail end of April 2021, but a stateside launch likely via SNKRS and select retailers is expected to arrive soon.
