Gorillaz Puts Its Unique Twist on Classic Fred Perry Garments
Featuring reworks of the classic Harrington Jacket and the epochal Polo Shirt.

After enlisting Gorillaz to showcase its iconic polo shirt last month, British label Fred Perry now reunites with the world’s biggest virtual band to drop a unique collaborative selection of apparel and accessories later this month.
Featuring both menswear and womenswear, each piece in the collection sees a band member put their own unique stamp on the classic Fred Perry shirt, with bold prints and signature embroidery at the chest. A distinctive crane print runs throughout the collection reinterpreting the polo shirt, pique dress and pleated tennis dress, while upon closer inspection the crane has been a motif which has featured within the Gorillaz world for years.
Track jacket and matching pants are a canvas for embroidery and subtle Gorillaz-infused motifs, while three adaptations of the classic Harrington Jacket and a recycled polyester bomber jacket round out the collection’s hero outerwear pieces.
In true Gorillaz style, you will be able to explore the full collection digitally via the band’s motorhome (its virtual and current HQ) from May 20, while the release will happen on the same day, although those wanting to purchase any pieces will have to register their interest online before then via the Fred Perry website.
In other news, a new London-based label is paying homage to classic American iconography with its debut collection.
