Following the success of its other Godzilla anime titles, which include Planet of the Monsters, City on the Edge of Battle and The Planet Eater, Netflix is now releasing yet another anime based around the King of the Monsters, dropping a fresh trailer that offers fans of the kaiju a closer look at what’s to come.
Titled Godzilla Singular Point, the new anime series will span over 13 episodes and features an entirely new cast that’ll come together for an original story. Plot details remain scarce at this point aside from what the trailer reveals, which seems to focus around an inevitable “catastrophe” that’s about to happen and a group of individuals determined to defeat Godzilla, but Netflix says it’s “unlike anything seen in the Godzilla franchise before.”
Directing the series is Atsushi Takahashi, who is most known for his work in Doraemon the Movie 2017: Great Adventure in the Antarctic Kachi Kochi, while My Hero Academia studio bones and Beastars studio Orange have teamed up to co-produce the show, combining both hand-drawn and CG animation styles.
For fans of the great kaiju, Godzilla Singular Point will launch on Netflix in June.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Lucy Liu is joining Helen Mirren in the upcoming Shazam! sequel.
