Montblanc Crafts a Limited Edition 1858 Monopusher Chronograph in Bronze
Inspired by the original Minerva models of the ’30s.
Montblanc is introducing a new limited edition take on its 1858 Monopusher Chronograph, this time turning to a truly vintage material: bronze.
Inspired by one of its early 1930s Minerva models, Montblanc has named the latest edition “Origins” as a tribute to the original design that would later inform its current 1858 collection. The timepiece is composed of the two-subdial layout emblematic of the vintage-inspired series, with a small seconds at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute chronograph at 3 o’clock, all encased within a 46mm bronze case paired with a hinged caseback. Powering it is the famed hand-wound monopusher movement from Minerva, a 22-jewel model offering 50 hours of power reserve and full control of the chronograph through the use of just one button. The elegant timepiece’s vintage aesthetic is then completed with a brown Sfumato alligator strap, tying the entire look together.
Limited to just 100 made, Montblanc’s 1858 Monopusher Chronograph Origins Limited Edition 100 will be available for €30,000 EUR, or roughly $36,200 USD.
