Epic Games Has Acquired 'Fall Guys' Developer Mediatonic
The company reassures fans that gameplay won’t be changing.

Epic Games has acquired Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout developer Mediatonic.
Revealing that the team behind Fall Guys increased from 35 to more than 150 employees since the game’s launch back in August last year, Mediatonic says that the acquisition will allow the developer to continue expanding on the title and creating new content for it, including features, rounds, and costumes. It also reassured fans that the gameplay itself won’t be changing and that it still intends on porting it to both the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox platforms. On top of this, while the acquisition will introduce the game to the Epic Games Store, the company maintains that it’ll still be available on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
“At Tonic Games Group we often say that ‘everyone deserves a game that feels like it was made for them.’ With Epic, we feel like we have found a home that was made for us,” said Tonic Games Group CEO and co-founder Dave Bailey in a statement. “They share our mission to build and support games that have a positive impact, empower others and stand the test of time and we couldn’t be more excited to be joining forces with their team.”
