'Superman & Lois' Renewed for Season 2
The news arrives after the CW’s DC Comics drama aired its debut episode.

The CW has announced that Superman & Lois has already been renewed for a second season. The pickup of the Greg Berlanti-produced DC Comics drama on the network comes just after only one of its episodes aired.
Mark Pedowitz, CEO of CW announced the renewal on Tuesday stating, “The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment. We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bona fide hits in Superman & Lois and Walker, both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
Superman & Lois, starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, reportedly drew in 1.75 million viewers for its 90-minute opener and a 0.37 rating amongst adults ages 18-49. The premiere delivered CW’s largest Tuesday audience in two years, likely pushing for the renewal of the second season so quickly. With delayed viewing, the series saw the debut draw in 2.7 million total number viewers.
The CW continues to grow its next wave of DC Comics content having already picked up other Berlanti-produced superheroes drama like Batwoman, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. CW is a joint venture between CBS Studios and Warner Bros. TV.
