Dior Men Adds a Maxi Saddle Bag to the Classic Lineup
The larger version is offered in two colorways of grained leather and in a Dior Oblique jacquard print.
Dior Men reimagines one of its most recognizable pieces with the Maxi Saddle bag, a larger version of the men’s staple, shortly after releasing a series of the standard-size version in its Winter 2021 collection.
The Maxi Saddle’s generous proportions allow for increased practicality and more styling options, either crossbody or as a “messenger” style single-shoulder bag. For added functionality, bag comes equipped with a removable zipped pouch which fastens to the shoulder strap for easy access to a wallet or a cellphone as large as the Phone 11 Pro Max. The adjustable strap itself is fastened with the aluminum ‘CD’ buckle.
The Maxi Saddle is available in black or khaki-green grained calfskin leather and in a beige and black Dior Oblique jacquard canvas, which features black calfskin piping and closure embellishments.
The bag is available now at Dior’s web store and at select boutiques for $4,000 USD.
The saddle bag has been a regular candidate for reinvention over the course of Kim Jones tenure as Dior Mens creative director. Notable past efforts have included a $35,000 USD metal version for Pre-Fall 2019, a backpack saddle bag, and a retro newsprint Saddle Bag in collaboration with Daniel Arsham paying homage to John Galliano’s Spring/Summer 2000 Hobo Chic collection.
