Nike Air Max Tailwind V Releasing in Sporty "White/Midnight Navy" Makeup
Simple-yet-sporty shades appear on the retro runner.

Nike‘s Air Max Tailwind V has received a rather under-the-radar rollout over the past few months — save for a brief burst of excitement when a Skepta collaboration was teased — but, visibility aside, the turn-of-the-century runner has released in a handful of clean colorways like “Medium Olive” and “Iron Grey.” Now, the fifth member of the Air Max Tailwind family is continuing its low-key revival with a sporty “White/Midnight Navy” makeup.
Almost the exact inverse of a “Midnight Navy” colorway that released last October, this pair supplies a white jersey mesh upper with a gridded pattern. The sporty material covers the entirety of the midfoot and toe bumper, but is contrasted with a rich navy on the throat and toebox. A sharply-angled navy plastic midfoot shank drops down into the midsole and provides a buffer between the midfoot and the heel, the latter of which is made up of a sleek black synthetic.
Branding is handled by a small navy Swoosh on the midfoot, “Tailwind” and “Max Air” graphics on the tongue and a silver strike with a “Max Air” spellout on the heel. Down below, the look is finalized with white EVA foam midsoles that house clear Air Max units/an outsole with a TN badge that debuted on 1998’s Air Max Plus.
The Nike Air Max Tailwind V “White/Midnight Navy” will release at retailers like Asphalt Gold on March 1, and is priced at $180 USD.
