FACETASM and AKILA Connect for Collaborative Sunglasses Capsule
Proffered up in black, teal and marble white.
In the early stages of 2021, Hiromichi Ochiai‘s FACETASM blessed us with a collaboration alongside Russell Westbrook atop the Jordan Why Not Zer0.4, as well as previewed its forthcoming Japanese street culture-inspired FW21 collection on the runway. And now, the Tokyo-based imprint is dipping into the world of accessories via a team-up with sunglasses brand AKILA.
Together, the two entities reimagine the “Apollo” — one of the more popular silhouettes of the LA-based eyewear company — in three distinct colorways. A duo of the offerings are solid in color scheme and come with full either black or muted teal tints, while the third option is slightly more playful due to its marble white exteriors. On each of the sunnies, tonal ‘FACETEASM‘ branding is printed across the exterior sides of the temple, while the interior walls bear the names of both collaborators on the left side and “Apollo” on the right.
If interested in picking these a pair of these shades, you can find them available now via FACETASM’s Shinsaibashi Parco store for ¥20,900 (approx. $200 USD). A wider launch is set to go down come February 12 on AKILA’s web shop .
In case you missed it, POLITE WORLDWIDE and Akila recently revealed a biodegradable “TERRA” sunglasses capsule.
