Dustin Diamond, 'Saved by the Bell's "Screech," Has Died at 44
Losing his battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.
According to reports, Dustin Diamond, best known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on NBC‘s Saved by the Bell, has died at age 44.
Monday morning (February 1), the child star lost his battle with Stage 4 small cell-carcinoma lung cancer after his condition greatly declined. With his longtime girlfriend at his side, Dustin was taken off breathing machines to be moved into hospice care just weeks after being diagnosed and completing his first round of chemo.
Once-beloved by ’80s babies and ’90s kids, Dustin Diamond captured the hearts of audiences as Zack Morris’ goofy sidekick on Saved by the Bell. But following his time on the sitcom, Diamond experienced a fall from grace as his child acting days grew farther away.
