Earlier this month, we caught a glimpse of Nike‘s anticipated annual Chinese New Year-themed footwear as the gold-accented Air Jordan 6 Low surfaced. Since then, Jordan Brand has unveiled their 2022 capsule, which ties into the “Year of the Tiger.”

Continuing the sneaker brand’s tradition of honoring CNY since 2002, festive designs adorn the latest array of Jordan shoes, T-shirts, and sweaters. Leading the lineup is the Air Jordan 1 Low OG in pale orange emblazoned with a tiger-inspired black striped pattern and a tiger head logo atop the heels. Further decorating the shoes limited to 5,000 pairs are black satin lining and a yellow translucent outsole bearing the classic Wings logo.

On the other hand, the Air Jordan 6 Low and Jordan Legacy 312 draw inspiration from Chinese ceramics – the Five Great Kilns – produced during the Song dynasty. In particular, the former features a cracking pattern that resembles the “Ge” porcelain in the toe box and surrounding area. Other standout apparel designs include a Jumpman logo with clouds and birds and Chinese-style buckles on a reversible black and orange bomber jacket.

The Jordan Brand 2022 CNY capsule collection is set to release on December 30th in the Greater China region, with a global release in February 2022 to follow on the Nike website and at select retailers.

In case you missed it, Nike gives its Blazer Mid Jumbo another “Voodoo” makeover.
