Aside from a first trailer that debuted just last week, not much has been revealed about the upcoming Halo live-action adaptation series, but executive producer and 343 Industries staff Kiki Wolfkill has now confirmed that it won’t be following conventional canon from the games and the books.

In a new video shared by Twitter account Halopedia, Wolfkill explains that the TV series will depart from the main canon so far and instead create something called the “Halo Silver timeline.”

“We do have some context and perspective that is different from some of those stories that we’ve experienced or read about in the games,” the executive producer explained. “We’re referring to this as the Halo Silver timeline as a way of differentiating it from core canon, in both protecting core canon, and protecting the television story. And by that I mean being able to give ourselves the chance to evolve both, and for both to be what they need to be for their mediums without colliding with each other.”

What exactly this Silver timeline will entail is still yet to be revealed, but there’ll definitely be a lot of fan speculation until Halo releases in 2022. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
