Mobb Deep's Prodigy To Reportedly Receive a Street Named After Him in Queensbridge, New York
The co-naming will supposedly take place in 2022.
Mobb Deep‘s Prodigy will supposedly have a street named after him in Queensbridge, New York in 2022.
According to reports, the corner of 12th Street and 41st Road will be co-named “Prodigy Way” and has just received final approval from the City Council. Prodigy’s family, fellow Mobb Deep member Havoc, Big Twins and Kenny Carter’s Fathers Alive in the Hood organization greatly helped in the co-naming of the block, with its proposal “graciously approved.”
Prodigy died in June 2017 while hospitalized for complications in relation to his sickle-cell anemia. Havoc shared in 2018 that he’s working on a new Mobb Deep album “in conjunction with [Prodigy’s] family” and that it will release “pretty soon, before the end of the year,” but any updates surrounding the followup to The Infamous Mobb Deep are yet to be announced.
Elsewhere in music, Drakeo The Ruler was fatally stabbed just before his performance at the Once Upon A Time in LA concert.
