RM Sotheby's is Offering a Rare 1961 Jaguar E-Type Roadster
Hailed by Enzo Ferrari as “The most beautiful car ever made.”

A rare 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8-Liter Roadster is now available for auction over on RM Sotheby’s.
Originally unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show back in March of 1961, the sleek Jaguar roadster took the automotive industry by storm. The famed Enzo Ferrari considered it “The most beautiful car ever made” while New York’s Museum of Modern Art brought in a blue variation as part of its permanent design collection, making the E-Type one of only six automobiles to make that distinction.
As for this current model on auction, restoration was performed by marque expert Dave Ferguson in 2013, making use of a majority of the original’s parts. Aside from larger front disc brakes, a five-speed manual gearbox, new wired wheels and an electronic ignition, the vintage Jaguar retains most of its stock components, including the headlamp covers, windscreen, fluid reservoir, and even its nuts and bolts.
