Pop Smoke Shines in Trailer for Eddie Huang's 'Boogie'
The food personality’s directorial debut.
With the trailer for Boogie, we now have a first look at Pop Smoke‘s posthumous acting debut. Serving as Eddie Huang‘s directorial debut, the feature film starring Pop and actor Taylor Takahashi follows author, chef, restaurateur, food personality’s Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir entertainment venture.
Boogie chronicles the story of Alfred “Boogie” Chin, a Chinese-American basketball player with dreams of making it into the NBA that goes against his immigrant family’s expectations. As Chin moves through the basketball community of New York he meets Pop Smoke’s basketball prodigy character and the two begin a feud to prove they are the best.
Eddie Huang’s Boogie completed filming before the passing of Pop February 19, 2020 and is expected to premiere March 5. Watch the first official trailer for Boogie above.
