UPDATE (January 21, 2021): After three rounds of voting, the Nike LeBron 10 “Ring Ceremony” has won Nike SNKRS’ 16-shoe “Vote Back” tournament, topping the LeBron 9 “King’s’ Throne” in an all-gold final showdown. Originally spotted on LeBron’s feet after he won his first NBA Championship with the Miami Heat during the 2011-12 season, the “Ring Ceremony” will be put into production later this year.

ORIGINAL STORY (January 6, 2021): In honor of LeBron James‘ fourth NBA Championship — and first with the Los Angeles LakersNike has launched a history-filled “Vote Back” PE tournament on the SNKRS app. Culling sixteen of LeBron’s best unreleased PEs from his eighteen year-strong line, the four-round “Vote Back” tournament gives King James’ legions of vassals a chance to pick their favorite pair, with the winning style receiving a special reward: a full production run and retail release.

Offerings encapsulate almost all of LeBron’s line, from his earliest days with the Air Zoom Generation all the way up to the LeBron 15. Although each pair is striking in its own right, special standouts include the LeBron 3 “Los Angeles Remix,” the Family Guy-inspired LeBron 6 “Cartoon” (also known as the “Stewie Griffin”), the LeBron 7 “Hardwood Classics” and the LeBron 9 “What The.” The “Vote Back” initiative follows up Nike’s other customer-based voting contests, like 2017’s memorable “Vote Forward” contest for Air Max Day, but marks a first for Nike Basketball.

All of the “Vote Back” first round matchups are pictured above, and interested parties can head to the SNKRS app to vote for their favorite pairs.
