KAWS Teases Latest COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT Collaboration
The playful collection is set for release for FW21.
Having participated in Dover Street Market’s colorful anti-Black Friday “Fluro Rebellion” collection last year, Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT is set to release another capsule with long-time collaborator KAWS for Fall/Winter 2021 line.
Teased on the contemporary artist’s Instagram, the collection features ready-to-wear pieces including reversible padded gilets, button-up shirts, graphic T-shirts, and generously sized drawstring sling-bags. Prominently visible is KAWS’ renowned character bubble writing artwork spelling out “CDG” and “COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT” and his illustrious Michelin Man-inspired Chum figure, all adorned with his signature “XX” in all-over prints throughout the pieces.
Celebrating the playfulness of both KAWS and the COMME des GARÇONS SHIRT sublabel, the collection boasts bright neon-colors including lime-green, pink, and yellow.
Exact release dates and pricing are yet to be announced but we can expect to see this collaboration hit retailers like Dover Street Market later this year.
