GOOD NEWS Reveals '70s-Inspired SS21 Collection
The emerging label continues its sustainable approach to footwear.
London-based footwear label GOOD NEWS has revealed its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, taking inspiration from Los Angeles in the 1970s. In particular, the brand has celebrated ideas of expression, rebellion and community spirit from that time, all of which is referenced through frayed edges, ombré color palettes and vintage Moroccan Raffias.
The stand-out silhouettes in the collection are GOOD NEWS’ low-top Opal and high-top Palm, both of which feature an oversized rubber outsole complete with GOOD NEWS-stamped heel. These silhouettes have been finished with bold color combinations — including patchwork designs and tie-dye finishes — as well as more subtle pieces featuring frayed edges and repurposed fabrics.
GOOD NEWS’ SS21 collection continues the emerging label’s sustainable focus, which includes new materials and techniques. In this capsule, the brand has built its soles from a mixture of recycled and natural rubber, as well as using cotton laces, recycled metal eyelets and vintage fabrics. The construction of each shoe also incorporates eco glue, eco footbeds and natural dye.
Take a look through GOOD NEWS’ SS21 collection in the gallery above. The full collection will release via the brand’s web store on February 26, before arriving at select stockists on March 3.
