Blondey and adidas Ready Fourth See-Through Superstar Collaboration
This time in classic “Core Black/Cloud White.”

Blondey and adidas have cooked up another Superstar collaboration to follow up December’s well-received “Starlight Blue” release. Taking on a classic “Core Black/Cloud White” colorway that dates back to the Superstar’s earliest days but flipping the script with a signature see-through construction, the release marks the two’s fourth official collaboration — and its straightforward, effective palette harkens back to 2019’s launch colorway and smoky black style alike.
Uppers are crafted from a partially translucent jet black TPU, and overlaid with a white Three Stripe graphic, white heel tab with black branding and a gold “Blondey” midfoot stamp. Toeboxes are built from classic black rubber, and black leather graces the eyestays. Blue and white adidas Originals badges embellish each tongue, and even the insoles get in on the action with a gold stamp of their own and a herringbone pattern that draws directly from the shoe’s outsole. Black midsoles round off the look.
Though the upper may appear somewhat delicate at first glimpse, Blondey — who skates exclusively in his Superstars — told HYPEBEAST that it’s in fact much more durable than standard skate shoe materials. “TPU is a far tougher material than canvas, leather, suede or anything else skate shoes are typically made from,” he said in a December 2020 interview. “Even though I have plenty of pairs myself, I often skate the same pair for many weeks. Whenever I do change them, it’s not out of necessity.”
The Blondey x adidas Superstar “Core Black/Cloud White” will release via the adidas UK and THAMES MMXX webstores come January 30. The MSRP is set at £90 GBP (approximately $123 USD).
