Hanon and Diadora Continue Transit-Inspired Sneaker Series With the N.9000 "Alternative Route"
A follow up to the two parties’ N.9000 “Saturday Special” collaboration from 2014.
During Summer 2014, Hanon and Diadora shook hands to create the N.9000 “Saturday Special” — a sneaker collaboration that was influenced by the UK’s trains and buses in the 1980s. Nearly seven years later, the two brands are choosing to converge for a follow-up installment dubbed the “Alternative Route” colorway which also carries influence from the European region’s special transportation services during the peak of football season.
If you type “British rail trains 1980s” in the Google search bar, the first duo of images that pop up include that of locomotives styled with a vibrant teal paint job. And this makes perfect sense for the context of this footwear piece as this impending iteration is predominantly dyed with that very same hue.
Base layers are an amalgam of various sorts of materials including that of leather paneling, buttery suedes and mesh. Three distinct tones are pronounced across these fabrics including that of a marine blue across the middle, a bright teal that touches the heels and forefoot, as well as a fiery red which applies to the mudguards and heightened heel overlays. Neutral notes also show face via black and white hits, the former of which covers the tongue while the latter peeks out via the embroidered branding on the tongues and towards the rear. On the interior, you’ll find the liners/insoles outfitted with all-over branding from the two parties, as well as a gilded sticker that spells out the “Hanon Keeps On Burning” slogan.
The Hanon x Diadora N.9000 “Alternative Route” raffle is open now via Hanon through January 29. Each pair comes packaged with three sets of laces, gold foil labels, 1-to-1 box and a cotton dust bag.
