After rounding out 2020 with a black leather chore coat, Carhartt WIP has returned with the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The latest collection fuses the brand’s classic workwear and utilitarian influences with nods to the great outdoors and a selection of everyday staples.
Workwear references range from the continued use of robust canvas as a central material to the inclusion of a new camouflage pattern — mixing digital, desert and real tree camo into one print — and the introduction of hickory stripes to deep indigo and untreated canvas.
For SS21, Carhartt WIP also continues to look to the outdoors as an influence, especially a period before specialized mountaineering brands when Carhartt WIP’s hardwearing products were favored by climbers. Classic outdoor references have been updated in structured ripstop and through the use of 3D cut pockets and reflective zippers. Rounding out the collection is a series of core everyday pieces covering triple stitch sweats to classic Single Knee Pants as well as graphic tees and hoodies. Some of these items have been finished with new dyeing treatments into Spring-ready colors and darker “Deep Lagoon” and “Rum” tones.
