UPDATE (September 17, 2020): The Union x Air Jordan 4, Delta Mid and Zoom 92 were originally slated to release on September 30, but have been pushed back to October 16.

ORIGINAL STORY (September 16, 2020): Union and Jordan Brand are set to re-release select pieces of their latest footwear collection after its August debut. Following an inagural release through Union’s channels, the collection’s Air Jordan 4 “Off Noir,” Delta Mid and Zoom 92 are set to return via Nike SNKRS, though the Air Jordan 4 “Guava Ice” will stay in the vault as it was a Union exclusive.

Air Jordan 4s are the collection’s centerpiece in both a literal and figurative sense, thanks to a special flipped-down tongue. Union founder Chris Gibbs looked to his childhood for this unique design reference — as a kid, he’d turn the tongues of his AJ4s down for an alternate look. When the design first surfaced, it was undeniably divisive, with many deriding the shorter tongue height. However, when the customizable aspect of the flip-up tongue was revealed the reception shifted to overwhelming positivity. The rest of the shoe is constructed from a thick blend of vintage-inspired suedes and meshes, all dressed in an “Off Noir” palette of black with sail, red, blue and white accents.

Accompanying the story-filled take on Michael Jordan‘s fourth signature sneaker are the Delta Mid and Zoom 92. The former is a high-cut iteration of the sleek Delta, and boasts asymmetrical tongue detailing plus perforated suede overlays. A “Off Noir” color scheme keeps things uniform. Meanwhile, the Zoom ‘92 looks to a light “Guava Ice” mix, melding a white upper with bright blue, red and yellow. Combining elements of the Air Jordan 7, Air Max 180 and Air Force 5, it’s a veritable history lesson in early ’90s Nike Inc style, complete with an advanced Zoom unit in the forefoot for comfort.

The Union x Jordan Brand 2020 footwear collection is set to arrive on Nike SNKRS come September 30. Prices range from $150-$250 USD.
