Blood Orange Joins 박혜진 Park Hye Jin for New Track "CALL ME (Freestyle)"
Accompanied by late-night visuals directed by Dev Hynes himself.
Blood Orange‘s Dev Hynes has linked up with Los Angeles-based South Korean DJ, producer, rapper and singer 박혜진 Park Hye Jin for a new track titled “CALL ME (Freestyle).” The collaborative track reworks Park’s song of the same name that appeared on her 2018 EP IF U WANT IT. Hynes adds his vocals to the dreamy instrumentals, complementing Park’s muted rapping.
The video that accompanies “CALL ME (Freestyle)” was directed by Hynes himself. Filmed throughout New York City back in March, the late-night visuals feature shaky shots of desolate streets and nighttime scenes illuminated only by traffic lights and street lamps. “Late night riding just to feel safe/Safer when you’re on the highway,” he sings. “Headphones on although it ain’t safe/You don’t care ’cause it’s your gateway.” I’ve been racing when my head feels light,” he continues on in the chorus. “Hiding on the streets, holding out to meet.”
