Tudor Resurrects the 1950 Royal Watch
Giving the elegant piece a modern makeover.

After seven decades, Swiss luxury watchmaker Tudor has now reintroduced its Royal collection, based on the original model first released back in 1950.
Given a modernized makeover for the more fashion-savvy watch enthusiasts, the new collection offers both 316L stainless steel or two-toned models that span across four different sizes — 28mm, 34mm, 38mm, and 41mm — giving you the chance to find the perfect match no matter what wrist size you have. There’s also plenty of choices when it comes to dials, with Tudor offering them in nine different makes, including sunray satin finishes or mother-of-pearl editions, featuring either applied Roman numeral indices or even diamonds.
Movement-wise, the collection departs from the brand’s usual in-house approach and makes use of Swiss-made ETA calibers instead, with three different models powering the various sizes across the collection. The 41mm houses the ETA caliber 2834, the 38mm and 34mm are both powered by the ETA caliber 2824, and the smallest 28mm will be powered by the ETA caliber 2671. Despite using three different movements, their specs are almost identical, all operating at 4Hz, boasts 25 jewels, are hackable, and carry a power reserve of 38 hours.
For those interested, the new Tudor Royal collection is now available, with prices ranging from $2,150 USD to $3,925 USD. Head over to the watchmaker’s website to learn more.
