D33J Returns With Melancholic New Single "Next Day"
“Struggling to maintain.”
Djavan Santos, better known throughout the music world as Los Angeles based producer and WEDIDIT Collective member D33J, returns with his new single “Next Day.” He’s fresh off his notable collaboration with A$AP Nast for “Designer Boi”, an homage to the rapper’s eclectic fashion sense and lifestyle.
On “Next Day,” D33J continues that momentum by delivering a melancholic offering focused on making it to the next day in the everyday struggle. It transitions perfectly to “Designer Boi” too, hinting at a cohesive upcoming album. The video is full of abstract and morphed self-portraits as the producer turns his attention into transforming into a vocalist. “In the self directed music video, D33J uses software as the camera; all the visuals in “Next Day” are computer generated. Using current strides in machine learning technology, the scenes are based on thousands of self-shot and found images. Distant memories, forgotten neighborhoods, and passing strangers all blend in this sensory soup that is the “Next Day” video,” a press release reads.
