Nigerian Artist Tems Shares Promising Debut EP 'For Broken Ears'
Premiered alongside her new “Damages” music video.
Rising Nigerian star Tems has dropped off her debut EP, For Broken Ears.
Clocking in at 20 minutes, the seven-track project was primarily written and produced by Tems herself, with additional production from Oddio, Spax and Omeiza. For Broken Ears is billed as “a self-actualized body of work,” and is a promising introduction to the creative force she has to offer. Her deep and rich vocal ability is reminiscent of Koffee or Tracy Chapman, but the catchy hooks and blend of soul and language is uniquely Tems’.
For Broken Ears arrives after the release of singles “Try Me” and “Mr. Rebel,” which dropped in 2019 and 2018 respectively. The latter marked Tems’ debut single, which she release after earning two degrees and quitting her job in digital marketing.
