Back in 2018, there were rumors that Marvel and Sony were planning on developing a live-action film for the Spider-Man character Silk, but a new report from Varietis now suggesting that the two companies will be creating a television series instead. The show will be written by Lauren Moon, who much like Silk, is a Korean-American. Into the Spider-Verse veterans, Phil Lord and Chris Miller will be executive producing under their Lord Miller production company alongside former Sony Pictures Entertainment chairperson Amy Pascal. It’s also suggested that the show may stream on Amazon‘s Prime Video service.

For those unfamiliar, Marvel’s Silk comic series follows Peter Parker’s classmate Cindy Moon, a Korean-American who also gets bitten by a radioactive spider by accident. Naturally, she develops similar powers to that of Spider-Man, but instead of building web-shooters, she can shoot webs organically from her fingertips. She also possesses a stronger Silk Sense than Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense and has eidetic memory at her disposal. The character was previously portrayed by Tiffany Espensen in the Spider-Man films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there’s no indication that she’ll be returning for the role in the upcoming TV series.

There’s currently no information on when the upcoming live-action adaptation for Silk may arrive, so stay tuned for more information to come.
