Nick Knight‘s boundary-pushing fashion concept SHOWstudio, known for pioneering fashion film, has announced a near-three-week-long pop-up immersive experience at Harrods in London.

Titled “Fashion’s Digital Future,” SHOWstudio will take over a part of Harrods’ fifth floor to showcase a series of virtual panel discussions that, along with ground floor window displays, explore how digital transformation is reinventing the fashion landscape.

During a time where fashion weeks have had to become digital, SHOWstudio hopes to offer a deeper insight into the power of a digital revolution in the fashion world. In doing so, virtual panel discussions are centered around how technology will reshape the future of the industry.

Notable panelists include fashion consultant Adam Andrascik, photographer Martyn Ewoma, Harrods fashion and accessories director Lydia King, and Harrods creative visual director Alex Wells-Greco, who will be commenting on shows from London, Paris and Milan, and more specifically those from the likes of Burberry, Valentino and Christian Dior.

The pop-up will also feature a two-way camera set-up that will offer a live insight into the workings of SHOWstudio, allowing customers to interact with the team. Other material streamed at the pop-up includes live fashion shows, interviews with Nick Knight, designer collections, and backstage content.

Inside six of Harrods’ famous street-level windows will be SHOWstudio-curated installations. “Zoom Shoots” will showcase a never-before-seen film from Vogue directed by Nick Knight, featuring Bella Hadid, Fran Summers, Abby Champion, Anok Yai, Jill Kortleve, Ugbad Abdi and Xiao Wen Ju. In window two, you’ll find “Fashion Film,” which will highlight 25 of the best projects created at SHOWstudio.

@uglyworldwide, @matieresfecales, and @creepyyeha will be the focus of window three, “Instagram.” This looks to examine how rising stars can bypass traditional methods to enter the fashion world using digital media. Window four, “CGI Technology,” will show a 3D CGI avatar recreation of Duckie Thot, while in window five, “3D printing” will be set up to build a full-size 3D sculpture of Daphne Guinness wearing a Gareth Pugh cage dress, which will continue to be built over the life cycle of the installation.

Lastly from September 24 to September 29, SHOWstudio — in collaboration with Rottingdean Bazaar and the 3D artist Dirk Koy — will demonstrate form and structure with a piece that changes shapes and flows between windows.

Take a look at the SHOWstudio x Harrods “Fashion’s Digital Future” teaser video in the gallery above, and be sure to check out the immersive experience — socially distanced, of course — on Harrods’ fifth floor in London, from September 18 to October 7, 2020.

In other news, this new photo project looks to highlight the empty spaces left by lockdown.
