Joe Exotic Series Starring Nicolas Cage Heads to Amazon
Focusing on how Joe Shreibvogel turned into the eccentric zookeeper.

A scripted Joe Exotic TV series starring Nicolas Cage is heading to Amazon Prime Video.
The still-untitled series was shopped around in May 2020 and will be co-produced by Amazon Studios, Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. Unlike Netflix’s Tiger King, the forthcoming show is based on the Texas Monthly article “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild” and will focus on how Joe Shreibvogel (Cage) became the eccentric zookeeper, Joe Exotic.
Brian Grazer, Paul Young and American Vandal showrunner Dan Lagana will helm the series alongside Samie Kim Falvey, Cage, Scott Brown and Megan Credyt.
Exotic is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after he was found guilty of a murder-for-hire plot against his archenemy and big-cats rights activist, Carole Baskin. He most recently sent a pardon request letter to President Donald Trump.
Elsewhere in entertainment, it’s been confirmed that F9 will see Dominic Torreto and the gang to outer space.
