TikTok is Suing Trump Administration Following App Ban
Formally announcing its lawsuit against the U.S. government.

Following early reports, TikTok is now planning to sue Donald Trump and his administration. In an official statement, TikTok and its parent company ByteDance formally announced its lawsuit against the United States government. Plans to take the government to court comes after Trump signed an executive order that will see the app banned in the U.S. along with other Chinese platforms like WeChat.
In the statement, the company notes the complaint filed through the federal court and the ignoring of extensive efforts to address concerns, conducted fully and in good faith. Going on to say, “not only does the Executive Order ignore due process, it also authorizes the prohibition of activities that have not been found to be ‘an unusual and extraordinary threat,’ as required by the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).”
