Apple Opens First Floating Store at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands
Taking the space previously occupied by the nightclub Avalon.

Apple will soon be opening its doors to the first-ever Apple Store to sit on water.
The new scenic location lies at the heart of Singapore‘s Marina Bay Sands and takes over the space previously occupied by the nightclub Avalon from 2011 to 2016. Replacing the previous shard-shaped Crystal Pavilion, the store is constructed in a domed shape with the company’s usual glass paneling covering the entire structure, reflecting Singapore’s cityscape during the day and lighting up like a lantern after the sun sets. Access to the store comes in the form of a boardwalk along the Bay as well as an underwater tunnel that joins up with the mall.
“We will soon open the doors to our new store by the Bay,” reads a teaser site from the company. “Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions. It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new. We can’t wait to see where your imagination takes you.”
