According to a new report from NPR, a source from TikTok has revealed that the tech company is looking to retaliate against Trump’s executive order banning the app in the U.S. with a lawsuit, claiming that the administrative decision is unconstitutional.

In particular, the source says that the suit will be filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California as early as August 11. “It’s based on pure speculation and conjecture,” the source said, adding that “The order has no findings of fact.” The company itself declined to comment on whether a lawsuit will be coming, but did acknowledge that it believes the order was issued “without any due process” with “no substantiation” of its allegations relating to security issues.

The White House also refused to comment on the impending legal battle, but voiced its support of Trump’s executive order.  “The Administration is committed to protecting the American people from all cyber related threats to critical infrastructure, public health and safety, and our economic and national security,” spokesman Judd Deere said.

Stay tuned as the story develops.
