Oi Polloi and Superga Drop "Sandals for People Who Don't Do Sandals"
A summer-ready, breathable mesh sneaker.
Oi Polloi and Superga have teamed up to give the latter’s classic 2390 military pump a fresh mesh makeover, aimed at sneaker lovers who want to get through the summer without having to wear sandals.
Continuing last year’s collaboration on the same sneaker, this year’s release, the 2592 Super-meche, has been described by both brands as ‘sandals for people who don’t want to wear sandals’ – thanks to the breathable mesh upper and mediterranean beach footwear inspiration.
The silhouette has been slightly tweaked from its original shape with the toe-cap now asymmetrical, taking inspiration from 1970s fencing and squash shoes, yet the classic vulcanised rubber sole remains unchanged from the original sneaker.
Arriving in “Midnight” and “Natural” colorways, the Oi Polloi x Superga 2592 Super-meche are exclusive to Oi Polloi and are set to drop on August 6, 00:01 (BST), via the UK retailer’s webstore retailing at £65 (approximately $85 USD).
In other news, Raheem Sterling has featured in the lookbook for Clarks Originals’ collaboration with BAPE.
