adidas Football Unveils Latest Innovations With X GHOSTED Boot
Set to be worn by the game’s fastest players including Mo Salah, Gabriel Jesus and more.
adidas Football has unveiled the latest installment in its ongoing X line of boots, featuring new technical innovations designed to help the game’s fastest players. Named the X GHOSTED, the boot sees adidas utilize new materials and techniques in order to create a lightweight boot that both feels and looks fast.
One new innovation is the “Translucent Mirageskin” material, which is layered over a wire framework to create the upper. The material features a semi see-through aesthetic and is overlaid with Three Stripe branding in a nod to the wings of the peregrine falcon, the world’s fastest creature.

Elsewhere, the X GHOSTED features the “Spring Construct” footbed, inspired by deconstructed track running spikes, and a “Vacuum Fit Experience” that creates a super snug fit for the wearer. Lastly, the addition of the “Carbitex Speedframe” carbon plate means that the X GHOSTED is the first football boot to feature a dynamic carbon plate.
