LI-NING Bridges Styles in "Future Vintage, Sport Formal" FW20 Collection

Chinese sportswear brand LI-NING has presented the first round to release from its Fall/Winter 2020 collection, “Future Vintage, Sport Formal.”
This season, the label is not holding back. Its new roster of sneakers offer a welcome change in the footwear market, they’re divisive yet wearable, bordering on high-fashion avant-garde aesthetics while maintaining their affordability and distinctively LI-NING look.
Sneakers such as the Titan are something entirely new for LI-NING. The triple black pair is technical and gives off plenty of security-footwear vibes, thanks to its chunky sole unit, technical rope lacing system, and utilitarian make up of mesh and suede encompassing its upper.
Elsewhere, LI-NING presents the Furious Rider Ace Element in “Beige/Black/Brick” and “Ivory/Beige/Purple.” These pairs are a little more subtle, and deliver a deconstructed look thanks to their overlapping layers of high-gloss outer shells, a breathable, woven high-tech fabrication beneath, and its use of matte finishes to add more contrast.
Lastly, the sportswear giant has given its popular Furious Rider Ace 1.5 an all-black makeover. Joining the roundup of sneakers is a full clothing collection inspired by Mr. Li Ning himself, namely drawing influence from a photo of the former athlete wearing a suit at one of his runway shows.
The collection looks to bridge the gap between sportswear and formal attire, hence the collection’s name “Future Vintage, Sport Formal.” It also looks back on LI-NING’s 30-year-deep archive, as a result presenting standout pieces such as a reversible lab coat in khaki green, the “High Score” cropped track jacket, two variants of a paneled jacket, and a complementing pair of paneled trousers.
