More than 200 years after the French Revolution, Parisian hypercar design firm Vision Automobiles has debuted a new hypercar, aptly named the 1789 supercar.

Much like the historic event which started in the year 1789, the 1789 Hypercar is Vision’s own attempt at revolutionizing the automotive industry. Founded by former Peugeot designer Thomas Castex and his childhood friend and Renault veteran Florian Gravouil, the company has managed to create a hypercar that runs solely on biomethane with the help of other racing experts including Paul-Loup Chatin and Matthieu Vaxiviere. Unlike electric cars, the use of biomethane means you’ll still get the thundering rumble of internal combustion while completely removing pollutants. The car will derive its driveline components from Welter Recherche Technologie Industrie while benefiting from other high-caliber partnerships with companies like Michelin.

You can take a closer look at the 1789 in the gallery above or over on Vision Automobile’s Instagram page down below. To learn more about the 1789’s performance, you can head over to the Parisian company’s website.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, U-Boat Worx has teamed up with Officina Armare to design a superyacht that can carry its NEMO personal submarine.
