A New Reboot for 'The Nutty Profressor' Is in the Works
A reboot of Eddie Murphy’s reboot.

A reboot for The Nutty Profressor is in the works, marking the third reboot for the title. The last 1996 reboot, inspired by the original 1963 version, starred Eddie Murphy and was a smash hit at the box-office, garnering $274 million USD in sales from a budget of $54 million USD.
Project X Entertainment, the studio behind Scream 5 will be producing the new film, and James Vanderbilt, William Sherak and Paul Neinstein will be the key people leading its development. Vanderbilt, who has a sizable portfolio for writing scripts to movies like Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Rundown, to name a few, will be producing the film instead of writing its script this time. The upcoming movie is still in its early stages of development, so no writers, actors or directors have been confirmed yet.
