Michael B. Jordan's Tom Clancy Film 'Without Remorse' Moves to Amazon
Joining the other Tom Clancy franchise, ‘Jack Ryan.’
According to a new report from Variety, Amazon is now finalizing negotiations to buy the rights to Without Remorse from Paramount Pictures.
Releasing a teaser trailer at the end of last year, Without Remorse is an upcoming film based on Tom Clancy‘s espionage novel of the same name, starring Michael B. Jordan as the book’s main protagonist, a U.S. Navy SEAL named John Clark. The film was diected by Stefano Sollima, whose previous work includes Amazon’s drug trafficking series ZeroZeroZero, and co-stars Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Luke Mitchell. The script was written by Sicario‘s Taylor Sheridan, while the most updated draft was penned by the Oscar-winning Akiva Goldsman of A Beautiful Mind.
With the property now moving to Amazon, it’s still unclear where the company will decide to take the new franchise-starter. Amazon is home to another popular Tom Clancy franchise, Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski as the titular protagonist, an analyst working for the CIA. Ryan and Clark has met in various occasions in Clancy’s books, but there’s no news from Amazon just yet about whether the two characters will collide in any future projects.
Without Remorse was originally scheduled for release February 26, 2021. Those interested should stay tuned for more updates to come from Amazon.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Disney has delayed the new Star Wars trilogy by a year.
