New Balance RC_1300 Appears In Two Elegant Colorways
“Mallard Blue” and “Summer Fog” palettes for the hybrid runner.

New Balance‘s Tokyo Design Studio infuses a breath of modernity into heritage silhouettes, and one of its most notable projects of 2020 has been the RC_1300 — a model that combines traditional 1300 uppers with a new-age ENCAP Reveal sole unit. After releasing in marbled blue and bright asymmetrical styles in past months, the RC_1300 is back for the summer in two fresh palettes: “Mallard Blue” and “Summer Fog.”
Each pair blends a mesh base with nubuck overlays, and offers a mostly monochromatic color scheme. “Mallard Blue” uses a dark blue-green hue while “Summer Fog” equips a soft grey. Large midfoot N logos in either white or navy serve the signature strike of branded detailing, while grey and white tones either metallic or flat grace heel tabs and throats.
A special RC_1300 tag is stamped on the tongue, and a ridged plastic heel clip helps lock the foot in place. Down below, the sizable ENCAP midsole is bolstered with a hiking-style toothed black outsole made of Vibram rubber.
The New Balance RC_1300 “Mallard Blue” and “Summer Fog” are both set to release via Japanese retailers like atmos at the tail end of July. The MSRP for each is set at ¥22,000 JPY (approximately $206 USD).
