After dropping his ambitious double album græ back in May, Moses Sumney returns with a new music video for the track “Me in 20 Years.” Filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine and directed by Allie Avital, the video features Sumney — wearing old-age makeup — living alone in an apartment. Light emits from a single lamp in the corner of the room as Sumney stumbles around the dark space.
“I wonder how I’ll sleep at night/With a cavity by my side,” Sumney sings. “And nothing left to hold but pride, will I/Hold out for more time?” The emotional music video, which is punctuated by surreal and dreamlike elements, is a personal look into Sumney’s own life and how he envisions his future. The visuals end with Sumney laying down beside the deep cavity imprinted in his bed. “Me in 20 Years” follows visuals for græ tracks “TWO DOGS” and “and so I come to isolation.”
