Jhené Aiko Unveils Dreamy Visuals for "Summer 2020" Music Video
A cut off her recently released deluxe edition album.
Los Angeles, California-based singer-songwriter Jhené Aiko has released visuals for “Summer 2020,” a cut from her recently released studio album Chilombo (Deluxe). The track above samples Kool & The Gang’s “Summer Madness,” which is an ode to DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince’s 1991 hit single “Summertime.”
The softly delivered lyrics also focuses on the uncertain times of 2020 and a certain someone serving as her only source of solace through it all. “Tryna beat the heat and summer madness/ Only thoughts of you can get me by,” Aiko sings over the warm, vibey, summer track. The footage above, directed by Eyes, shows Aiko blowing bubbles in a small inflated pool on her front lawn. Palm trees, butterflies, and flowers surround her in the foreground and background as well.
The track is a single from the artist’s latest album, a deluxe edition of her latest third studio release. Comprised of 29-tracks in total, the deluxe release features nine new tracks with features from Kehlani, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and more.
