Copenhagen-based label Han Kjøbenhavn has finally presented its upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The rollout is part of Milan’s digital fashion week this season and further expands the label’s creative outreach. Kjøbenhavn has shown in Paris recently but now has taken the challenge to Italy. “The classic show format has a presence and an energy, that can be challenging to transfer to the digital world. But we took he opportunity to push ourselves creatively and challenge the format”, says founder and creative director of Han Kjøbenhavn, Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen in a press release.
For SS21, Han Kjøbenhavn is inspired by the evolution of living creatures and the expanding shapes and proportions the body takes. We see the brand utilize the extension of the shoulders to add sculpt while elongated tailoring contribute to the structural direction. Angular lines appear in the suiting and leather fabrics, justifying the difficulty of the construction on some of the pieces. The addition of lace, ruffles and jerseys also bring about the mix of casual and formal themes of the range.
Some standouts include the leather jackets, the broad-shouldered suits and the long coats. Look out for the collection to come out next year at Han Kjøbenhavn retailers.
