Eric Emanuel and Reebok Announce Question Mid Collaboration
The sportswear designer brings his colorful flair to Allen Iverson’s most famous signature sneaker.
After first teaming up for a special Answer V in July 2019, Eric Emanuel and Reebok have reunited for a new take on Allen Iverson‘s Question Mid. A fitting collaboration as Emanuel has long been effusive in his praise for the Philadelphia 76ers legend — even stating “I don’t have a moodboard, but if I did Allen Iverson would be on there” in a 2018 episode of HYPEBEAST Radio — the new Question is centered around bright accents and bold pops of branded flair.
Built from white tumbled leather, Emanuel’s latest sneaker uses bright pops of pink on its heel and signature toe cap. This distinctive hue was chosen by design, with Emanuel stating “Oftentimes the color pink is left out of the conversation of sport, so I have always tried to introduce it.” Apart from these pearly pieces there’s also pink trim around the tongue and midfoot Vector logos, both of which are dressed in royal blue to match the eyelets.
White midsoles hold blue DMX cushioning units, and feature Emanuel’s signature EE logo in prominent position on the heel. These circular badges are surrounded by an icy blue rubber, which is continued on the outsole to round off the look. When asked about the question’s legacy, Emanuel didn’t mince words, stating:
“The Question was the first shoe I absolutely had to have — especially the 1996 All-Star yellow and blue; which we referenced in my Answer collaboration. To me the shoe was everything — there’s simply no other word to describe them. I went straight to the Carousel Mall in Syracuse to grab them. [The Question is] the first Reebok I ever wore, so this shoe brings my relationship with Reebok full circle. The smile I had on my face when I saw the first sample is still on my face. I AM SO EXCITED.”
The Eric Emanuel x Reebok Question mid will release on the Eric Emanuel webstore come July 24, then hit Reebok’s own online shop a week later on July 31. MSRP is set at $150 USD.
