Air Jordan 1 Mid SE "Track Red" Offers Union-Style Colorblocking
Taking cues from Chris Gibbs and co’s influential 2018 collaboration.

Excitement around the Air Jordan 1 Mid is high as it’s ever been, so Jordan Brand has presented a new “Track Red” style that takes clear visual cues from Union LA‘s influential 2018 Air Jordan 1 High “Black Toe/Neutral Grey.” Following in the footsteps of a “Light Ash” makeup that borrowed heavily from Dior’s luxurious Air Jordan 1s, this Frankenstein-ed style repurposes a rare collaboration for mass market consumption.
Front halves are all Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe,” with a black mudguard, tongue, eyestays and Swoosh offset by white quarter panels and toeboxes. There is a difference in material: unlike the Union, which exclusively equipped premium leather, this Mid uses a nylon-like synthetic material on its black accents.
Collars are made of an “Igloo” suede that looks grey at first glance but in fact offers a slight blue tint. Collar flaps are dressed in white and stamped with a red ball-and-wings logo. The tongue equips a Jumpman fabric tag and offers a line of wavy white stitching across its top seam, while a red suede heel offers a final touch of “Black Toe” style. White midsoles and black outsoles round off the look.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Track Red” will release at retailers like 43einhalb on July 14, and is priced at $130 USD. If you can’t settle for the Mid and are trying to catch a High, the original Union style is available now at Stadium Goods, with prices ranging between $1,699 USD and $2,445 USD.
Jordan Brand also recently debuted its new Crater silhouette, a lifestyle design constructed mostly of recycled materials.
