The North Face Urban Exploration's Latest Capsule Reimagines the ABS Vest
Continuing to revisit its iconic designs.
Following its Denali Jacket capsule, The North Face Urban Exploration has now put together a special range that reimagines the ABS Vest.
Paying tribute to the alpine skiing top, the fifth and final capsule features four pieces expressing a monochromatic black-white color palette. First introduced in 2012, the ABS was the result of a collaboration between The North Face and German manufacturer ABS. The life-saving “avalanche airbag system” vest was designed for alpine patrollers and backcountry skiers to ensure they remain on the surface of an avalanche.
The “Capsule 05: ABS Vest Reimagined” sees the technical utility vest updated with an “airflow” fabric, which features micro-pore technology that is exceptionally breathable and moisture-wicking. The lightweight material also features four-way mechanical stretch, dries quickly, is UV-protective and anti-microbial. Examing the original design, The North Face Urban Exploration has reshaped the vest with a modern-tailored approach, while its eight utility pocket design is reimagined for the urban landscape.
The unisex DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating and utility function Airflow Vest is accompanied by the matching Airflow Utility Crew, five-pocket Airflow Utility Shorts and free-form Airflow Skort.
