After joining Cherry Los Angeles for a Black Lives Matter charity T-shirt, Los Angeles-based collective SHABBAAAAA has designed its own shirt and bandana to bring attention to racial inequality and social injustice in the country today. Made with the Ghetto Youths Foundation, the cotton jersey tee features a unifying graphic of fists raised up in the air together and the phrases “Stand up for equality” and “Uplift the voices of the youths and pave the path with justice” on the back. The vibrant green bandana boasts the same graphic and phrases in a symmetrical pattern.
“We, alongside Ghetto Youths Foundation (founded by Stephen, Damian and Julian Marley), recognize the POWER and PURPOSE of our YOUTHS in the struggle for CHANGE,” SHABBAAAAA states. “Join us to amplify the voices of our younger generation across country, and ensure that their path is paved with EDUCATION and JUSTICE.” 100 percent of proceeds from the sale of the T-shirt and bandana will go towards the NAACP Youth Council. The drop comes before SHABBAAAAA Sound System’s forthcoming Apple Music Show, which will open up conversations between the collective’s crew and two leaders and educators within their Black communities, Diz Gibron of the Kinsley Family Collection and Ruban Roberts, NAACP President of Miami, Dade Branch.
