Tokyo label Sillage welcomes sculptor Taku Obata to its latest collection, with the capsule being the last large project of the Spring/Summer 2020 season.

The release highlights Japanese artist, sculptor and breakdancer Taku Obata and his specialized hand drawings. Each shirt depicts an all-over print of a bipedal figure, in three distinct patterns and colors. The densest shirt arrives in black on white, while a green variant mixes browns and oranges for an almost camouflage-like feel. Perhaps the most summer appropriate edition appears in Yellow, with splotches in red and blue. Each rayon shirt — similar in feel to hawaiian shirts — features button closures, open collars and a wide body fit for maximum comfort.

Saitama-born Taku Obata has made a name for himself with multiple releases across various mediums: porcelain sculptures, wooden figures and clothing with other brands such as MAGIC STICK. His work has garnered him awards including the 2008 Tokyo Wonder Wall award for best 3D and Installation category.

The three-shirt capsule collection will release on June 13 at Sillage’s official website. Elsewhere in Japanese streetwear, Hiroshi Fujiwara and uniform experiment release airport-inspired tees.
