Listen to Jorja Smith Cover St Germain's "Rose Rouge"
From the upcoming ‘Bluenote Re:imgained’ compilation out this September.
Jorja Smith returns with a new cover of St Germain’s “Rose Rouge” as part of Blue Note Records‘ upcoming compilation Bluenote Re:imgained due out this September.
It’s been almost two years since Jorja released her debut album Lost & Found. Since then the singer-songwriter has kept busy, appearing in Kendrick Lamar‘s mysterious new creative service company’s announcement trailer. She has also released some new music along the way like her jazz-infused “Kiss Me in the Morning” for Netflix’s musical drama The Eddy, a song that fits perfectly in line with this new Blue Note contribution.
Jorja flexes her singing chops backed by a live band, taking her unique sound to a different era. If it’s a sign of what’s to come from the compilation, then you’ll definitely want to stay tuned for more singles before Blue Note’s Bluenote Re:imgained releases this September. The track is minimalist in composition, with crisp drums, vintage horns and hypnotizing keys. You can also check out more behind the scenes footage via Blue Note Reimagined’s new Instagram page.
