Girl Skateboards Salutes Beastie Boys With Photo-Rich Capsule
Celebrating the New York band’s lengthy career with archival graphics.
Following Opening Ceremony‘s star-studded Beastie Boys Story merch capsule, Girl Skateboards has joined the legendary rap crew for another commemorative collection. Though some skate shops received the collection in May, it’s receiving wider release just in time for summer.
Girl Skateboards’ capsule includes a host of skate decks, hoodies and tees emblazoned with photographs sourced from memorable moments in the New York-based band’s career. These range from the old men costumes seen on the cover of the Sounds of Science anthology, Check Your Head-era hangouts and plenty of fake mustaches from the “Sabotage” music video shoot. The imagery aligns with Spike Jonze, who recently premiered his Beastie Boys Story documentary on Apple TV+ and wrote the forward for the new Rizzoli Beastie Boys book.
Learn more about the Beastie Boy capsule on Girl Skateboards’ website and shop it via stockists like Crailstore. Watch the original “Sabotage” music video below.
Most recently, the Beasties and Jonze joined Desus & Mero to talk about the new documentary.
