adidas Unveils Retro-Inspired Ajax Away Kit for 2020/21
A modern interpretation of graphics seen in the eighties and nineties.
adidas Football has delved into its archives for a retro-inspired Ajax away jersey for the club’s 2020/21 campaign.
Paying homage to the eye-catching graphic kits of the eighties and nineties, this new jersey features a mix of blue tones, with pops of red and white accents all-over – a subtle nod to the Dutch national flag.
The classic Ajax crest has been given a red fill, to match the name and number prints on the reverse of each shirt.
The adidas stripes and three championship stars feature in white, as do the Andreas crosses in the neck, while the shorts and socks are dark blue with white accents.
This launch is a part of an adidas global campaign called ‘Ready for Sport’. This campaign portrays a situation in which sports fans are able to play their sports, while fans are able to watch their team’s performances on the field, following a hiatus across all sports as a result of COVID-19,
